THELMA AND LOUISE - Beach trip!

As you are reading this post
my "girls trip" is about to get kicked into high gear!

My all time fav chick flick has to be
"Thelma and Louise"
Susan Sarandon (Louise) and Geena Davis (Thelma)
 were fabulous in their roles

My adventure stars...
Thelma (me) and Louise (Kathy Guenther)
The location  moved from Texas to Florida!
Our rental car is not the 66 Thunderbird,
but wouldn't that just sweeten the plot!

Wonder if any Brad Pitt types will roam the beach in the rain?
and will it rain?

A new money bag for the adventure...
My  money stays with me - never on the night stand!

Thelma really likes her booze but we both
  have packed  "senior" sippy cups!

Louise (Kathy) is the driver this time
and the pedal to the metal will take us to some LQS.
Like this one - Rainbows End in Dunnedin, FL

If you have never watched the 1991 movie
"Thelma and Louise" rent it soon.
It's the original BFF chick flick!

My favorite lines....

Thelma to Louise:
You said you 'n' me was gonna get out of town and for once just really let our hair down. Well darlin', look out 'cause my hair is comin' down!
-----------------------------------------------
Thelma:

Are you sure we should be driving like this, I mean in broad daylight and everything?

Louise:

No we shouldn't, but I want to put some distance between us and the scene of our last goddamn crime.

Anyone have bail money...just in case?

CAPTCHA THIS

I loathe the CAPTCHA aka WORD VERIFICATION feature on blogs!  It's that annoying box that jumps up and requires you jump through a hoop to leave a comment.  Looks something like this!

2 or 3 months ago I happened to notice it was appearing on my comment sections AGAIN!!!
WTF?  I turned this off years ago!

After useless bantering with Blogger help forums, who said the engineers made an error and "they were working on this issue".
I got tired of waiting and after some trail and error - trying this and that - I figured out how to fix it! It's the techy girl in me!

If you use a BLOGGER platform for your blog..better check and see if what is happening in your comments.   Go leave yourself a comment on one of your blog posts.  If the CAPTCHA screen pops up....here is the fix.

Follow the screen shot below...
In Design mode
Go to Settings
Post and  Comments
Comment Location field ... Select the option for "embedded"
Show Word Verification field - set to NO
Save your changes!

If you want to post a blog about this issue on yiur blog....just link back to my post for the instructions. I am sure many don't even realize that their CAPTCHA is on!

Leave me a comment and tell me if your CAPTCHA was on or off and if you were able to fix it.

A FLAKEY KIND OF LOVE

I haven't snow skied in 15 years. I loved it.
I took my vaations in the winter, playing in the snow
of  the Rocky Mountains.
Honeymooned in Breckenridge, Colorado in 1999.

A couple of my good skiing buddies...
tied the knot last fall.

I was out of town and missed the wedding...
but I knew exactly what their gift would be!

A beautiful kwilt made with blue and white snowflake batiks.
and yes, these were in my stash.

Let's add a little snow to this shot!

Aren't these snowflake batiks...sew pretty
The backing is white with silver snowflakes.

Photo label of Ginny and Jim
atop of a mountain in Europe!
They ski everywhere!

I finally got the kwilt finished and gave it to them recently
A surprise for sure....

A happy surprise, I'd say...

Hopefully they won't fight over the kwilt.
It's big enuf for both to snuggle under!

He chased her for 13 years...till she caught him!

Yep, some of my friends are FLAKEY!
Luv you Ginny and Jim!

A finish for...

AND SEW IT BEGINS

My 2015 Sew my Stash all begins with
GHASTLIES and the
Moda Modern Building Blocks pattern

You can buy a pattern from many vendors on line for around $12.00 - just google it.
Kits are also available...but many are using their own fabrics.

For a peek at the Moda pattern design and assembly instructions
you can find a PDF here

Block 1 - 36" square

Block 2 - 36" block

Side by side...in my sewing room...
This kinda puts the size into a HUGE perspective!

Block 1 and 2 - that's 6 feet of fabulous GHASTLIES!
eeeeekkkkkk!

Block 3   - 30" square
but has 93 pieces "POINTY" pieces

This one had me shaking in my shoes
but I just took my time, fixed my mistakes, redid some seams
til it finally came together.

I can't decide on the outside round of color,
so I will wait...finish a few more blocks that go around it
and then decide. The fabric will have to talk to me!

If you are on Instagram check out hashtag
#modernbuildingblocks or #modabuildingblcoks
to see some fantastic fabric choices for this pattern
other than just solids.

I'm not an all solid color kinda girl!

And just sew I made sure I wouldn't run out of Ghastlies
I bought MORE!   bahahahahaha

Yep, the orange and black Kona will go with my
ORANGE GHASTLIES collection and kwilts!

I'll add this to my other Ghastlies to...
